Description

The Committee on Business, Consumer, and Regulatory Affairs is responsible for matters concerning small and local business development policy; consumer and regulatory affairs; the conduct of Emancipation Day celebrations within the District of Columbia and the regulation of banks and banking activities, securities, and insurance, including private health insurance, but not including the Health Benefit Exchange.  The committee is also responsible for matters related to workforce development issues, employment, and manpower development.
